What OS are you running on? We are currently trying to resolve a difficult to reproduce bug on Vista. Please submit a support incident at www.adobe.com/support/digitaleditions/
It looks like I have this bug on Vista Ultimate-- the same problem as described here.
I have exactly the same problem. I'm using windows VISTA Business
I am having a similar issue with XP Pro SP2. I start the install it downloads digitaleditions2x0.exe and then I get the send error report screen. I deleted the file and redownloaded it and get the same issue. I just ordered a book and can't even open it. This is unacceptable. What ever happened to test it before you ship it?
I got the same problem in Vista Business but it works perfectly in Window XP. I am able to install Digital Editions manually in Vista and able to add items from existing files e.g. pdf etc.
It seems the differences between the two is that Digital Editions got reconized in XP but not (i.e. registered) in Vista because the ebook button under XP shown only "READ" while the button shown "INSTALL and READ" under Vista. Vista didn't know the existance of the program (manully installed)!
We need a way to tell Vista that Digital Editions already been installed.
