    nav bar question

    Sara473
      Hello,
This is my first time posting here and I'm really hoping someone can help me. I created a navigation bar in Fireworks and inserted it into my Dreamweaver pages. My site is now well over 50 pages (each containing the nav bar). I thought that if I needed to make changes to the nav bar and I could make the change, reupload the new files and then all pages containing the navbar would automatically update. Well I'm finding that this is not happening. In order to update each of the pages, I'm having to open each page up in Dreamweaver, delete the old nav bar and then reinsert the new nav bar. There's got to be an easier way. What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance to anyone who can shed some light on this fustrating problem.

          Hi Sara,

The pages will not be updated unless the navbar is a Dreamweaver library
item, or has been made part of Dreamweaver template.

            Hi Sara:

Another option - if supported by your hosting provider - is to create
the navbar section as an include file using Dreamweaver. Then all you do
is update the one document, reupload the one file and it is refreshed
            across the entire site.

I haven't done it with an FW Navbar, but I have done it with other
            navbars and footers.
