I had this same problem. When I checked this out it was set to Adobe Acrobat 7 and that is why is was not going to DE. Please
make sure that the '.etd' file is associated with Adobe
          Digital Editions.

Set the 'ETD' file associations to Adobe Digital Editions by performing
          these steps:

          1. In My Computer or Windows Explorer, go to Tools > Folder Options.

          2. Select the 'File Types' tab.

          3. Scroll down to the 'ETD' file type.

          4. Make sure that the extension is set to open with Adobe Digital
Editions. If it is not, click the 'Change' button and select Adobe
          Digital Editions.

          5. Click 'OK' as needed to save the changes and exit the open windows.

Next, please ask the patron to delete the titles from their Adobe
Digital Editions. Lastly, please ask the patron to use the following
steps to transfer their title to their Sony Reader.

          1. Install the latest Firmware AND Connect Reader/eBook Library Software
          from the link below:

          2. Install and activate the latest version of Adobe Digital Editions.

          3. Connect your Sony Reader and open Adobe Digital Editions. It should
automatically prompt you to activate the Sony Reader.

          4. Download the title to Adobe Digital Editions.

          5. Drag and drop the title (from Adobe Digital Editions) onto the Sony
Reader icon (while in the library view).
