1. Re: Grey Box TIFF (not EPS) graphics and FM7
Seanb_us Jan 14, 2003 3:16 PM (in response to Seanb_us)1) Make sure you have enough RAM, hard disk space, latest video drivers, and a good video card--certainly meet the minimum requirement of FrameMaker 7 but consider that Windows XP and associated apps make it prudent to be using 256+ MB RAM and a 32-64MB video card (Sean's numbers, not Adobe's).
2) Download and install the two FrameMaker 7 patches (for U.K. users, there are three): .
3) If the gray boxes persist, consider batch converting your TIFFs to an alternate format, such as PNG or EPS (for CMYK).
4) At least some of the time, this is a FrameMaker 7 bug; read the following account from the Framers FrameMaker Users' list (http://www.frameusers.com):

Everybody, Sorry that it took a while to sort this out on the development side. It looks like this is a software bug, not directly related to the lack of RAM or video memory, which also produces similar effects, but for different reasons.
We're working on fixing this latest bug, but with the recent organizational changes in the Frame engineering group, that you're aware of, it may take some more time before things start getting better and faster.
This problem got escalated high enough, but I do not have ETA for its resolution at this time.

Seanb_us Apr 25, 2003 12:12 PM (in response to Seanb_us)Thanks to the Framers list for the heads up, there's a new FrameMaker patch that might help with the TIFF grey box thing:
Regards,
Sean
