1. Re: raised 3d bevel in illustrator CS3??
rcraighead Aug 7, 2008 8:17 AM (in response to lister110@hotmail.com)You would need to add a custom bevel to the "Bevel.ai" file located in the plugin folder. Make sure to make the path Symbol. Save the file and close AI. When you re-open AI you'll see the new bevel in the list.
Oh for the days of Adobe Dimensions. This kind of job would be much easier. -

(zulbat) Aug 7, 2008 11:01 AM (in response to lister110@hotmail.com)I have worked with 3d bevel in illustrator and hate it. If I'm going to do such effects I have to use Photoshop. -

Wade S Zimmerman Aug 8, 2008 7:25 AM (in response to lister110@hotmail.com)You might want to do that with two text shapes instead of one
But regardless the 3d filter does a poor job of this. -

(Jyri_Konttinen) Sep 10, 2008 4:07 AM (in response to lister110@hotmail.com)On my AI CS3 making 3d effects is working fine. Expect when you want to double the 3d effect on Appeareance palette. It's like pouring glue inside my Mac: has to reboot AI.
Why have a Duplicate Item option on 3d appearances, too, if it just makes you have to reboot?
