    Layer panel options

I wish that the Layer Panel display options could be saved with the Workspace
rather than the New Document Profile.

When opening an old (pre- layer thumbnails) many-layered document (e.g. a
map) the default view is with all thumbnails turned on which isn't really
practical - navigation through the layers and sub-layers is too slow and
cumbersome. Having to open the Panel Options dialogue and switch thumbnails
off every time one opens a document quickly becomes an irritation.

Layer thumbnails can be set to off in the New Document Profile but that
doesn't help with older documents. If, however, thumbnails could be set to
off in the Workspace, then any document - AI8, FH, EPS - would open with
      thumbnails off. I'd like that.

I agree with Michael's suggestion, although I find the icons helpful to ID various strokes, color, etc. I would only add that closing all of the layers and sublayers in my 250+ item layer window every time I reopen the doc is a real waste. The window should come up the same way I left it when I last saved.
