I'm still amazed that some companies think you can tackle
such a big endeavor as a Flex portal application with only one Flex
developer. Do you have experience with such projects, what was the
typical team involved (number of Java developers, Flex developers,
designers, UX designers) and how long did the project last ?
My project has:
- 11 complex portlets (showing different data in
minimized/maximized views, some allowing to manipulate data), 3
- Java backend / LCDS
- It's a custom portal (no JSR-168 or WSRP)
I would have 2 solid developers, one in Java and one in Flex
who can code frameworks and components. Flex like Java supports
components to the core so a lot of reuse can be achieved - example
a window component that can maximize/.minimize. Add to this 2-3
junior developers for the more mundane flex and java coding. One
UX+UI person to make sure the look and feel are right.
