    search and relpace (Advanced)

    Level 7
      Hello:

      I need to "Search and replace" in my whole site the string "VARIABLE" for
      "FILENAME"

      For example: In the code of all my pages there is a string saying VARIABLE
      and I need to replace it with the name of each HTM file

      "page-one.htm" will have in the code the string "VARIABLE" and it will be
      replaced by "page-one"

      Is it possible to do it with Dreamweaver or any other app?

      Thanks

      Liso :)

              Inside my HTM files there is something like this:

              <!--#include virtual="/random/v2b/trab1.txt" -->
              filename
              <!--#include virtual="/random/v2b/trab2.txt" -->

              And I need to replace "filename" with the name of each htm file.

              I dont wnat to write it down because there are a lot of files.

              I was wondering if there is any search and replace "intelligent" to it with
              the whole bunch

              Thanks

              LISO :)

                AFAIK- the filename of the current file isn't available within the Find and
                Replace operation.

                AFAIK- It is available within the Dreamweaver Extension API, so a custom
                extension could probably do this.

                How many files are there, what is "a lot" ?
