Did you choose German from the language popup when you installed? Are you typing InDesignServer.exe on the command line?
You should just type InDesignServer or InDesignServer.com. The .com sets up the execution path correctly so that all of the dlls are found by the executable.
Yes, I chose german.
No, I'm not typing InDesignServer.exe on the command line.
On the command line I just type InDesignServer or InDesignServer -port 1234 -configuration....
It is hard to know what is going on without more information. Can you tell if the message is coming from the system, or from InDesign Server? What is the german text of the message. I might be able to look up the message in our translation files and get a clue as to what the problem is. Have you tried installing on another machine?
I don't realy know where the message comes from, but I think its a system- message.
The german massage on the command line is:
Das angegebene Progamm kann nicht ausgeführt werden.
It means: Can't execute program.
Yes I installed it on another machine and got the same error. Is there mayabe a problem with Windows 2003 Service Pack 2?
We're looking into this. Sorry I don't have a more immediate response.
Please include your command line specifics here and whether you are able to start the InDesign Server via the Windows Service control panel. Windows 2003 SP2 is a supported platform so it is unclear why this is not starting for you. I'm assuming you entered a valid serial number during install time.
IDS QA Manager
no its not possible to start InDesign Server via the Windows Service. I get the error 14001 in a pop-up windows. It tells me, InDesignServerWinService could't be started.
Cant't start the application, because the application configuration ist not correct. You should re-install the application to solve the problem. ( I did it allready more the one time)
I think I entered a valid serial number. I entered the number that we got in our download area on the adobe website.
I tried to start the server on the commandlines, in different ways.
InDesingServer -port 1234 -configuration IDSName
I get allways the same error, it doesn't matter how the command looks on the command line.
If you are installing the debug version you have to install the VC++ run-time shared libraries separately. Microsoft does not permit redistribution of the debug run-time shared libraries. The message that you usually get when you have not installed the run-time libraries is:
" The application cannot be started because the application configuration is incorrect. A possible solution is to reinstall the application."
Yes I got this massage.
After I Installed VC++ it works.
Great, sorry it took so long to realize what was going on. The error message that microsoft puts up it pretty useless!
