    Disjointed Rollover Fading in

    shelleyfish Level 1
      Hey

Can anyone tell me (if its possible) how to create disjointed rollover in fireworks that fades up the rollover image. I know how to do the rollover bit but not how to make each rollover fade up rather than popping up!

      Any help much appreciated!

You can't do this cross-browser, without using Flash or a monster animated
          GIF image.

You need to create the fade in animation first, and export it. Make sure
it is exactly the same size as the normal state rollover image. Instead
of using the Button editor or simple rollover editor, use the Swap Image
behavior. In the Swap Image editor, under 'Show the swapped image from'
click the Image file radio button and browse to the location of your
fade in animation. Uncheck Preload images, but leave 'Restore image
            onMouseOut checked.

Be careful to limit the number of frames in the animation to keep it
very small. Note that you can also use a Flash animation for this.

Linda, I just want to clarify my understanding of what you are saying,
namely, is it possible to do a disjointed rollover and swap in a flash
animation (which would be terrific) or are you just saying you could do the
whole thing in Flash? I would love the ability to swap in a flash
              animation.

              Thanks,
              Tony

No. That it could be done in Flash as well.

Hey Thanks for your replies. Ok, I'll probably go down the Flash route.

It would be great if Fireworks did have some kind of transitional fade up for it's disjointed rollOvers. Oh well....maybe one day!

                      Hey,

Just tried what Linda suggested about exporting a fading gif and then using the swap image behaviour. Thanks that works a treat..don't need flash for it after all.
