P Spier Jan 30, 2009 4:03 AM (in response to Skempy)InDesign lists fonts according to language classification, so the Roman faces are listed first, followed by Asian language groupings, and if there is a font that ID doesn't know how to classify it will be placed in a group at the end of the list.
Fonts installed in the Windows fonts folder are available to all applications on your computer. Those in the common\Adobe\Fonts folder are available to Adobe applications only, and those in an application-specific font folder are only available to that application.

Thanks for the info about the language classification. The second part is as I expected, I needed clarication as some people I am working with will not accept my explaination.
