    Installation and deactivation issue

    Mr_Gareth
      Hi,
I brought home for the office, my copy of Dreamweaver to install on my home pc (which I understand it ok). I first installed Version4 which worked fine. Then installed the upgrades (MX and CS3). I naturally registed them all. When I try and open Dreamweaver cs3 is fails and closes before fully opening. I now wish to unistall it but worry that I will cause a problem with my office licence because I cant deactivate it before uninstalling.
      Any suggestions would be great.
      Thanks

It's not a registering problem. In your case I think this fix would solve
your problem. Anyway you have nothing to loose.

After reading a few post and google search this solution seems to fix your
          problem

It is a corrupted file called WinFileCache-[random_numbers].dat. You will
find this file on Windows XP, it's located at
          C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Adobe\Dreamweaver
          9\Configuration
Where 9 could be different depending on your version.
Simply delete the file and restart Dreamweaver.

          Hope this helps

Is your home system an Acer?

Yes it is a Acer. How did you guess?

Because Acers have problems due to some security application that's included
in the default installation. Search this forum for "Acer" and you'll
                see....

Thanks. When i get home I will give it a try, but it sounds like the answer I need.
                  Thanks again.
