Check the "Abcpy.ini" file in the Acrobat 8 installer directory (you can open it with any text editor; for example, Notepad).
This file includes a field for pre-serializing the application. When the serial number is entered, the installer will use the serial number from the file.
Verify if there's a serial number copied in the file (in the field ISX_SERIALNUMBER=). If so, double-check the number to make sure it matches *exactly* your serial number.
Let me know what you find out.
Thanks for the advise. I had a look at the file mentioned and it was unchanged from the origional, no serial number. Is there any other way that this information is stored during the installation?
I have downloaded the Adobe 8.0 sucessfully, but when I try installing the Abodge 8.0 it give me an error message 1406. How can I correct this message and install?

Please help, I have tried to download version 8 a half dozen times today. I keep getting they following error message: The instruction at "0x7c911f52" referenced memory at "0x000cdfb1". The memory could not be read. Click OK to terminate, or click Cancel to debug. I have emptied all temp files, prefetch, and started over several times with the same results. I had no problems downloading the pro 8 version for a 30 day use, but cannot download the standard version. Why?
Can you provide the URL where you are downloading Acrobat 8 Standard from?
On a separate thread, Dale indicated that "the URL is the same: www.adobe.com"
This is not possible because Acrobat 8.0 Standard has no trial available on adobe.com. I believe you referred to the Adobe licensing website (licensing.adobe.com).
In any case, Dale, please contact Adobe Technical Support at (800)642-3623. They will be able to help you with your installation.
I have downloaded Adobe reader 8, and the buttons (Print, Save, Decline, and Accept for the installation do not work. I try to click on them and they don't do anything at all. I have closed and re opened it many times and have also re downloaded it just as many. Any help on this matter would be much appreciated.

I can't get these to work either. Have you gotten an answer yet?
