Byrdie Ethel Pillinger Nov 12, 2008 2:55 PM (in response to Byrdie Ethel Pillinger)I've been searching, and found this article which should have helped me: http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=kb400150&sliceId=1 but the "unwrapped file" is supplies is a .msp (PatchPackage.msp) file and when I try to run it Vista 64 tells me "1. 4. Re: dreamweaver 8.02 updater won't install
kolekrstev Dec 2, 2008 3:30 PM (in response to Byrdie Ethel Pillinger)I have the same EXACT PROBLEM as you do...
I of course, now I don't know what else to do.
Even I thought that if I uninstall the Dreamweaver completly and reinstall it again, it will help, but even according to
http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=4e7826b7
I couldn't uninstall Dreamweaver cause it keep showing me "1. Failed to install ISKernel...."
Hope, someone or "Dreamweaver's new update" will help!
Thanx

5. Re: dreamweaver 8.02 updater won't install
cpwegener Jan 12, 2009 12:48 PM (in response to Byrdie Ethel Pillinger)I have made some progress with the unwrapped patch. I have created a sub-directory where I have the unwrapped patch. Then I run the patch using the windows installer:
runas /env /user:'My Administrator ID" "msiexec.exe /update DW-8.02UpdateUnwrapped.msp"
Sadly this fails with the message "Internal Error 25001. No enough disk space to extract ISScript engine files"(yes spelling error and all.
There is clearly enough space the admin id I use owns the directory and has all necessary permissions.
Any help from Adobe?????
Regards,
Chris -

7. Re: dreamweaver 8.02 updater won't install
digicidal Jan 26, 2009 1:39 PM (in response to cpwegener)I have done the update to 8.02 in Vista64 without problem - the real key (I think) is in the documentation for the patch itself (main download location under support). You must have the original install CD in the drive - the drive it was in when you installed it originally - when you run the updater. If it can't find the original installation media it will fail - it's possible that under Vista64 this fail causes a weird error.
I don't know how to help you further because I didn't have the secondary problems you describe. I just left the setup CD in the drive after install and downloaded the patch. The InstallShield wrapped patch failed, but the .msi worked just fine, be patient though... it spent about 4 minutes reading the setup CD before it actually started updating the files on the hard drive.
