    Problems installing patches

      My last post, in which I complained of an inability to update to DW 8.01 Windows, went unanswered. After attempting to update, DW went gone sideways and the version still read 8.0

      I just attempted to upgrade to 8.02. Again, after completing the installation, the version reads 8.0 and the program still does not work. I assume I must remove the program, re-install it and hope for the best when installing the latest patch.

      A response this time from someone at Adobe would be much appreciated since the thought of sitting for hours on the phone is not appealing to me now.

          They are posted from time to time for just this question. Search here for
          "8.02" in the subject line - you'll find it....

            For those who have experienced the same issue, the following appears to be Adobe's response:

            We're able to reproduce the issue you're seeing (canceling the initial
            installation attempt, WIndows only), and it appears to be a Windows
            installer issue that the Dreamweaver team and InstallShield have no
            control over. The only workaround for this issue is to uninstall and
            reinstall DW.


            To uninstall DW 8 completely, please follow the steps in this
            TechNote, as there are some tricks to removing all of the settings:

            We will have a TechNote on this soon and will update the DW 8.0.2
            Release Notes to warn users about this problem if they cancel the
            installation process.
