The jar files are located on your LiveCycle DVD. To use the code, you need to be able to access a LiveCycle ES server, which you install.
If you goto www.adobe.com/go/learn_lc_programming and select Invoking LiveCycle ES > Invoking LiveCycle ES Using the Java API from the left-menu, you will find the details that you need such as the location of the JAR files and a primer on how set connection properties.
Hope that helps!
Thanks Flex. I had an eureka moment late night.
The code that I am using is here
And instructions for how to going about it is here
I will explore your option too, and find out if its better. May be its the same thing.
Alright a new question. What formats of word does this support ?
The real problem comes when we go to 2007 (.docx)
I am using Designer ES 8.0 and one thing it can do is "save as" pdf. I would assume that internally it uses the similar mechanisms used by the Java API to generate a pdf.
Since I could not find what version of word is supported by the API, I tried finding out if the Designer supports the 2007 format (.docx). I could not import a .docx file into designer and hence not generate a pdf off it. So I would assume that the Java API would not support 2007 word format too.
Am gonna try out a poc in a day or two ...which would give the answer.
