Problem occuring in one environment and not another

I am working on a problem we have in our production environment and not our test environment. The page numbers are showing up as 1 of ? in production, which was working in our test environment. Cannot determine why this is happening and could use some help.

Here is info from the log file
      2008/12/09 08:06:03 e:\Applications\Central\Bin\jfmerge: [179]Possible variable substitution ignored. Variable 'PageCountForFDTrans_1' not found.
      2008/12/09 08:06:03 e:\Applications\Central\Bin\jfmerge: [179]Possible variable substitution ignored. Variable 'PageCountForFDTrans_1' not found.
      2008/12/09 08:06:03 e:\Applications\Central\Bin\jfmerge: [400]^define User:PageCountForFDTrans_1 1

Do not see this in the test logs, so looks like we are missing some setup. We did not do this change, but had to take over the maintenance and are now supporting it, so not familiar with what they did.

Here is the PREAMBLE from the form

What would be have been setup in our test environment that we missed when moved to our production environment? Thanks
