    TDF question for Central Pro

    kc@dafolo.dk Level 1
      Hi all,

I have a problem on my neck, and I am no Central Pro expert. I have a raw data file (from XAL) that contains the following:

      ------------------
{!According to our records we have not received payment for the invocies specified.
      {!
{!Please arrange payment within 5 days.
      {!
{!Payment can be done to XXX-XXXXX, Swift-bic : {!Please specify invoice no. at all payments.
      {!
{!If payment has been made recently, please disregard this reminder.
      {!
      {!Further reminder will involve fee.
      {!
      {!
      ------------------

This data must be put into a .dat file into a field and currently this is done in a tdf-file with the following code in the extraction table:

      E myField Header "{!" 1 16 31 4 118 0 0 ""

But I only get the following value in my output .dat file:

      ^global myField
cording to our records we have not received payment for the invocies specified.

What am I doing wrong - I am not sure I understand the columns of the extraction table correctly.

I just need to get all the data above into the myField field.

Can you help me get this working?

      Thanks in advance

      Sincerely
      Kim

          Hey Kim,

Do you know how to use the Visual Transformation Editor(VTE) tool?

You'll resolve your problem if you know how to use VTE toll.

The first, you run the VTE program, Open the a.dat file.

          The second, you select the string Header "{!" 1 16 31 4 118 0 0 "", click right mouse, go to menu Define/Simple Extraction.

See the left of window editor. At session Extraction has 01 Item with name is Field1. Double click on this and modify Field1 by myField

Finally. Go to the Tools/Run Trasformation. Click Transform Button and save the out put file with extended .TDF

See three files attached for the exanple.

          regards

          Danh, Le Minh
