can this topic stay at the top Dave?
This particular post in not nessarsary to keep
The windows side is much more active than the mac side and has a few very
active hosts. I mentioned the windows faqs in a recent post, they are really
very good. Some of the items are windows specific, but most are not. I am
glad there is a link, But for those few who acess via newsreader, they are
not acessable. I would advise everyone to check them once in awhile, the
last time I did I found my name in the credits.
It is also a good idea to check out the windows forum. There are quite a few
very helpful people. And many pagemaker issues are not platform specific.
Warning! People on the windows side will also recommend Switching to
Indesign on occasion.
This topic has been forced to the top and made permanant.
Thanks, Dorothy. You beat me to it.
Thanks. I have suggested to Donald that we be allowed to have a Mac specific FAQ folder on the main FAQ page. I think this will also help out. I'm going to pull to gether a few topics for him.
Buko, I think it's unfair to ask Donald to be in charge of a specific Mac FAQs section as well. If you would be willing to coordinate, I'm sure you would find help if you asked for it. I, for one, would be willing to revise some (in no case all) topics in the Win FAQs to adapt them, if necessary, to the Mac platform. Only, don't forget I'm just an amateur user. If you want to know how I got here, I can tell you some other time; it's a somewhat long story.
Alot of the info is cross platform What I suggested to Donald was a folder for Mac specific problems. I would email them to him and he would post in the folder. Donald would not be responsible for writing the Mac specific FAQs I would and anyone else that wants to contribute.
Yup, that's no problem.
Hi, Claudio and Buko,
We're going to need to review the structure of the FAQs.
Some issues will clearly be Mac Specific (e.g. Font Mangler update 1.0/OS 8.6) requiring a new section but others may just need the Mac parallel adding (e.g. Command/Cntrl, Option/Alt)
You guys may have to do some translating of the existing answers/advice and let us know the best options.
If you're in browser mode, my e-mail address is valid and will forward any messages on to me. The NG one is completely fictitious.
