ssprengel Dec 7, 2008 11:50 AM (in response to jgregson)Aren't they ordered by frequency of use, to allow quick access to your top-10 keywords? -

Ian Lyons Dec 7, 2008 1:05 PM (in response to jgregson)John,
I've never come across a situation were the order changed from what I had set up. However, the order that Lightroom displays the keywords in a set is not exactly intuitive. The attached screenshot shows how you need to configure the set for an alphabetical listing. Hopefully, it will give you a clue as to how you need to insert your keywords for the order you want. -

jgregson Dec 7, 2008 2:04 PM (in response to jgregson)Ok, I sorted it out. Thanks, Ian, you gave me a clue. After you enter the set, and hit the Change button, you then have to select "Save Set ....". This preserves the order chosen which raises the question as to what is the purpose of the Change button? But I'll leave that to someone else to pursue.
Cheers,

Wolf Eilers Dec 7, 2008 2:15 PM (in response to jgregson)I'm amazed that anyone uses the keyboard shortcuts on a keyword set. And I use shortcuts for almost everything! -

jgregson Dec 7, 2008 3:15 PM (in response to jgregson)Saves typing when going through my pictures, and saves screen real-estate, too. Ctl-K opens the fly-out panel and I have to hit f8 to close it again. So alt-1, alt-2, ...., really speeds up my work-flow.

7. Re: Keword Order Using Alt Key
Wolf Eilers Dec 7, 2008 4:44 PM (in response to jgregson)Holy Keyword, Batman!
I just noticed something and it seems Lr 1.4.1 had the same feature. When the Keyword panel of the Library module is active and you press the Alt key you will notice that numbers appear for each keyword in a Keyword Set. These numbers would be the ones you press in conjunction with the Alt key to assign a keyword from the set.
Suddenly this Alt+1, Alt+2 ... to assign a keyword from a set makes sense!
