If you are not currently experiencing any problems you do not need to
upgrade from 3.0. If you are and you feel you need to upgrade, there is
no danger to the pictures themselves. The software is like a fancy
index. It shows you thumbnails that refer to the original photo, but
Hi Anybody out there!!!My Catalog-AdobePhotoshop Album Starter Edition3.2 I have a file of 81 items that I would like to down load into a file outside of "My Catalog" into a file, "Pictures". On the left side of your window, is there a section that gives you options of what to do with the files showing? Such as "Move this file"? That is what I do and it works fine. I actually just did it to do exactly what you are trying to do.
You can right click on any image ,go to "Show properties" and get the location of that image(look at the bottom of the properties dialog).By clicking on the folder icon present there, you are taken to the folder containing that image.Once you are there you can move your images anywhere you want to.
on my old PC i Have Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.0 in use.
Now I get a new PC and install the new Version Album Startet Edition 3.2. It works good, but I don´t know how to import my Collections from the old version to the new.
Can anybody help me?
Thanks a lot
i have pics with red icons on that look like broken files, how do i get rid of these and can i still save these pics? help
Are these computer connected in anyway, for example through a router?
What this means is the the thumbnail cannot find the original file. You
can try to fix this by click on File, Reconnect. If there are a lot this
is a long tedious process.
thanks for the response, I have tried that, some pics are now good. but when I try to reconnect some of them on the left side there is a 0 does that mean I have lost my original file. I do appreciate the help
It is likely. The other thing that you can do to confirm is use Windows
Explorer search function with a partial file name to test this. If you
find it, then you can reconnect manually.
Another possibility is to just say "Get Photos" again and make sure that
the file size is small enough to see them all... you'll notice it will
find all the images, but not take the duplicates.
The method won't reestablish collections, but it will allow you to find
yes the computers are connected in a home network by a router.
I try to copy the collections but i dont find the data on my old computer. Do you know where the Programm save the datas.
The catalogs should be located in the same places. However, let me try a
little experiment and see if I can devise a step by step instruction on
how to get them from the old computer to the new. It might take me a day
or two... too many irons in the fire right now... but I'll try to get it
to you shortly.
They just released 3.2 with no migration option. It was a very weak software un-development... So, your catalog is probably in location like C:\Documents and Settings\All Users.WINDOWSN\Dados de aplicativos\Adobe\Photoshop Album\Catalogs\ in both versions. You may have a 3.0 and a 3.2 folder. You have to copy My Catalog.psa at [catalogs] folder, to respective folder in 3.2 version but you have too to copy the files at [my catalog] folder located inside [catalog folders] to respective folders at 3.2 installation. Do this with PhotoAlbum closed. Just open the program and all the things return to the normal. But if you have made new catalogs you will loose them. There is way to merge. Adobe does it really bad this time. Good Luck
