There should be no limit.
BTW how many files you want to add to a album....
+ Ripple (VJ)
I've got almost 7000 right now and add 50-100 per month.
That should be fine. You might encounter performance slowdowns around
25000 depending on your computer resources though.
I have worked with 10,000 files on my PASE3.2 and it worked fine.
I have the following questions which is linked to the "max number of files".
Since I am using the oldest PhotoShop Album version (V1), I am wondering if I can continue with it. I have 6000 pictures, and growing ~100 each months.I would like to migrate to PhotoShop Elements 8, I tried the trial version, but when trying to import the PSA catalog file, I have an error around 35% conversion... Anybody know what I can do ???
I tried to do a repair with PhotoShop Album, without success.
I can import pictures, by groups of 1000
But then, how could I merge all catalog ??
You could try asking the Photoshop Elements forum users to see if there is a way to get around that failure, but you may just need to re-import all the pictures into the Elements trial, then re-add the tags.
Lol.... Is it a joke ? Re-adding the tags for 6000 pictures... Do you know the time it will take ?
Anyway, I will try the other forum, thanks,
Well, I've done it with 44k assets, so I empathize with your situation. Fortunately, Photoshop Elements has a 'Write Tag info to Files' command, which would allow any app (Windows, Picasa, Adobe Bridge) to import keyword tags from files which support embedded tags (jpeg). I used that command on my files to make starting over a bit easier; I couldn't find a similar command in my copy of Photoshop Album, so that didn't seem like an option for you.
For what it's worth, Photoshop Lightroom also has an import option, but not sure if it handles Album catalogs or not; something to try if you run into a dead ending getting Elements to import.
