You can disable it easily. Next to the clock in the taskbar at the bottom of the Windows Desktop, you will find an icon with a camera and a green arrow. Right-click this icon and select Disable from the popup menu. After this, the icon will change to a camera with a cross sign. Automation Picture Download will stop launching automatically after this.
Hope this helps

How to fix images manually?
v s k:
1) What exactly do you mean? The images are on your hard drive already.
2) PSA SE has facility for doing this. You'd need Photoshop Elements.
Likewise your later question.
Please help me get rid of the icon in the system tray. All other programs allow me to "uncheck load at start up". Any suggestions? I already have delete the icon every time. I've tried task manager and component services in administrative tools. Thank you, Robin
I would also like to know how to kill the extra icon, and keep the loading of it from slowing down my startup. I have already tried going into msconfig's Startup tab and unchecked "apdproxy" but it comes back again. The original line item (with box I unchecked) is still there, but a new item appears.
Ever since I got photoshop starter edition 3.0 all my pictures have a white border. When I print pictures they also have a white border. How do I get rid of the border?
This really ought to be a new topic.
Some more details would be useful:
What printer do you have?
Exactly how are you doing printing?
What size paper?
How big are the images in pixels?
I just installed the Adobe Photo Shop 3.0 version (starter) and I am having problems printing several copies of one photo on a page. I am trying to print out 4 x 6" photos. I was having problems with my HP Imagine Zone and was told by HP that it does not support to enlarge the photos, and recommended downloading your version. I have done that and am running into the very same problem.
I would appreciate all the help you can give me. If I can't get assistance with this, I guess I will have to uninstall this software.
Tell us exactly how you are trying to do your printing - step by step - and what goes wrong.
