Sounds like your firewall or somesuch is interfering with the sending process.

I am also having problems. My starter edition album holds all my pictures. I am unable to access it. The registration process never worked. I never received an unlock code. What did you end up doing?
I don't want to lose all my pictures.
> I don't want to lose all my pictures
Your pictures are not held inside PSA - it only maintains a catalog of where they are.
I DO NOT HAVE UNLOCK CODE WHEN I DOWNLOAD PHOTOSHOP ALBUM STARTER EDITION 2.0. MY E-MAIL is email@example.com. I would be happy to get one. Thanks
To receive the unlock code you would need to register your copy of Starter Edition. To do this, Select Registration from Help menu in the application. Make sure you are connected to the Internet. Fill the information in the Registration form and click the Register button. After this your information will be sent over the Internet and you should receive your Unlock Code on the email ID that your provide in the Registration form.
I am sure we all tried to register the software by pressing the "register" button but we get an error, "Unable to connect to the Internet" even when we have an Internet connection. I even downloaded the new version, 3.0 but that does not work either. What we need is the code. Since there is no tech support for this product I have to rely on someone who was successful in registering their product. Might your code work for me? Please send it to firstname.lastname@example.org and I will try it, thanks.
I'm having a similar problem registering and getting an unlock code. I don't think the problem is with the firewall, because the registration module crashes Explorer, and generates an error report for Microsoft. If anyone finds a solution, I'd be interested. The program looks promising, but if you can't use it....
You all can log a bug about your problem at http://www.adobe.com/misc/bugreport.html
>Unable to connect to the Internet" even when we have an Internet connection
What multiple people have experienced is that their
is blocking the outbound communication of the PSA program when it attempts to connect to the internet. Currently having a Browser (like Internet Explorer) connection to the internet is not sufficient because some firewalls check the individual program and Photoshop Album must be specifically specified. The firewall then gives a response to the PSA program that there is no internet connection available and PSA sends the message that you see.
Therefore, I recommend that you check the documentation for your firewall to see how to specify that it allow Photoshop Album to initiate an outbound connection. This solution has worked for multiple people.
Brian and Jerry,
In the past, it has been a trend that resolving the firewall definition has resolved the problem for many people. Of course, I can't say that it is the solution for everyone - just for many.
same trouble when installing version
3.0. doesn't want to connect to the internet even when putting Adobe in all accepted and "save" websites.... my program says I can only use it 19 times or I have to get the unlock code for the starter program... I tried hours to get it fixed but it doesn't work (normally I work with firefox, but it doesn't work with explorer either and both browsers have adobe as a save side. it isn't possible to put the albumstarter in the exceptions, but normally when the homepage is accepted, so are the subpages. what to do?
