>using Norton Security 2006 with the Norton firewall
My suspicion is that you need to authorize within the Norton Firewall for PS Album to initiate the outbound connection for the Registration. I don't have the Norton Firewall so I can't be specific - does it have a log that you can check to see if it rejected a PS Album attempt to start a connection?
Barb, thanks for your response. I don't think that is the problem. I have tried registering with the firewall turned off and with security turned off and it still doesn't work. I don't know which executable program specifically does the registration, but I went through all the executables that I could find (or at least recognize as such) in the PS Album directories and authorized them for Norton security.
When I run PS Album, it tells me that it is offline even though I am online.
The help links work to go online, but registration does not ?!?!?!?!
Any other ideas ???
No, I don't have any other ideas at this time.
Maybe someone else will have a different suggestion.
Thanks, Barb for your quick response. I am only able to work on these problems in fits and starts and this is one of my lucky times.
You can log a bug at http://www.adobe.com/misc/bugreport.html to get your unlock code, if you are not able to connect to internet through software
I logged the bug and asked for an unlock code sent to my email address. But, the form said I would not get a response to my bug submission.
I will not be able to open the program any more without an unlock code.
Why does it think I am not online????
I had the same problem until I disabled Norton protection. Don't just disable Norton firewall but disable all protection for a few minutes and repeat the registration process.
Worked for me
But, I tried disabling Norton Security for 5 minutes and 30 minutes.
The Register program gives messages that it is trying to open a network connection and is unable to open a network connection. I can't spot any references to those in my Norton logs whether or not Norton Security was disabled.
I tried using the Internet Explorer browser directly and the AOL Browser and they didn't help.
Any other ideas???
Does someone ever give you an unlock code some other way like email???
Thanks for the suggestion, Akshaya. I think I posted a bug report, but it says I won't get an email response. I guess that is true, because I haven't heard anything yet. And, I haven't gotten an unlock code, either.
