> can anyone provide step-by-step instructions for moving my 2.0 catalog over to 3.0 Starter Edition?
Probably not, as it is an odd thing to do. The SE versions only support a single catalog at a specific location. You'll need to figure out where that is and move your My Catalog.PSA and hope that it can do the conversion.
Thanks for the suggestion.
It appears the My Catalog.PSA is stored at:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Album Starter Edition\3.0\Shared_Assets\database\odbc
There are also some other files in that directory:
I copied my 2.0 catalog over and fired up the 3.0 program but only got errors. It was unable to do the conversion.
My plan was to create a catalog of pictures for my friends based on my 2.0 catalog and send them a disc with the photos, catalog and PSA 3.0 SE. They have no need for the full-blown 2.0 program so this seemed like a good, free way for them to benefit from the categorization work I've done.
A better method would be to attach tags to photos and send them. They could then be imported by friends into PSA SE 3 and get the benefit of your categorization.
When you install SE3.0 and PSA2.0 is also present on your system, SE3.0 will automatically open "My Catalog.psa" on launch. You need not worry about it.
As you have done some changes, to successfully work on SE 3.0 you have to uninstall and then re-install SE3.0.
The catalog for PSA 2.0 and SE 3.0 is located at:"C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Adobe\Photoshop Album\Catalogs"
Do let us know whether this solved your problem.
I successfully upgraded from PSA 2.0 to PSA 3.0. My catalog transferred automatically as well as all my pictures. However, when I click on the share icon, select the pictures I want to send and click on the send tab, I continually get the message: Host 'smtp'could not be found. Please verify you have entered the server name correctly ACCT: 'pop3', server: 'smtp', protocol:smtp, port:25, secure(SSL): no,socket error: 11001, error no: 0x800CCC0D.
Can someone tell me where and how I input this information?
Which method are you using for sharing your photos. Under Share toolbar there are three options viz Email, Send to Mobile Phone, Share Online.
If you are using Email then photos are shared using you Email client as set under Edit --> Preferences --> Email window.
However if you choose Share Online options then photos are shared using Adobe Photoshop Services. For using this, please make sure that you are connected to internet.
I haven't seen this problem. Please clarify which way are you sharing your photos?
Thank you for your response. I am using the E-mail under the "share photos" icon. I will check the settings under my Email client and see it this resolves my problem.
I changed my settings from 480 x 640 to 600 x 800 and was able to successfully send a picture. Thank you for your suggestions.
