PSA SE canot do this. Which software do you actually have? This sounds like a job for Premiere Elements. You could always download the 30 day trial.
Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Editon 3.0 has take over all Audio, Video and Photos function. Vertually any thing I doublcilick it wants to open it and continues to do so. I like the program but, don't want it to do each and everything that I might choose Windows Media or anothr program to do . DK Tampa
This is really a new topic ...
What are you asking? Do you want to associate other programs with certain file types?
As you can tell, I'm somewhat new at this. I do want to associate my Audio, Video and Photos with Windows Media , Others, etc. As I mentioned I never gave Adobe the authorization to have sole access to my data. This bothersome to be nice about it.Thanks DK

You agreed to the association during the install. Though I would agree that this is not clearly communicated.
To associate a file type with a program is a standard Windows procedure. Just right-click on a file and choose "Open With" then "Choose Program"; select the program you want to use and check the "Always Use" box. Do this for each type of file.
I have a similar problem with Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition taking over when I plug in a flash drive. The program starts up and reads all of the images on the drive. I checked the file associations and .JPG is not assigned to this program. I have looked for a setting which will turn off this action, but cannot find one. Can anybody tell me where I can locate the menu item which will prevent the program from starting and reading images unless and until I tell it to?
I too would like an answer to JCD (#6). It appears there is a real battle to be the first to grab images and present them. Any time I plug in a disk with images on it, several programs fight over it. Why is it that virtually all image software (even Adobe) begins behaving like malware the instant a camera disk is plugged in? What is the problem with a checkbox in the image loading screen to disable auto-image loading? Adobe PS Album Starter Edition is especially bad, the only way to stop it is to uninstall it (which I have done).
Is the need to prevent Album from opening an image or downloader from
grabbing the image off the camera. There are two different workarounds for
I'll be gone for a few days so my next response will be delayed, but others
here might be able to help.
I have the same problem. I primarily use memory sticks for data files and this program prevents Windows Explorer from displaying the removable drive. It appears the only solution so to uninstall Album.
