I think you might have posted to the wrong forum. You cannot have multiple
catalogues with this version. I suggest that you try the Photoshop Elements
I know. I just stopped the PSA application and replaced the file 'my catalog.psa' with my own file from backup.
Ohhh... yeah... well, you're running into a bit of an odd ball with this
app. It doesn't seem to like people playing with its catalogue. I'm really
not sure how to guide you on this because no one has ever really
successfully created a separate catalogue. The application tends to protest.
You can edit the original, but that is about as close as it gets.
Would appreciate your help:
My free trial has ended for PhotoShop Starter Edition 3.0 and I am trying to register, yet every time I hit the "Register" button a window appears saying it can not find the path, then another window appears saying this application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information.
Can you help me?
Try this number Chuck. It is Adobe CS in North America. 800-833-6687
I'm not playing with the catalogue or trying to create a separate catalogue. The only reason, that I changed the catalog was because I was trying to find out why I had the described problem.
My problem is still unsolved.
Can you remember when the errors started? Was this always the case? Is it
possible that any other software might be competing with PSA?
I think that it's about 1 month ago it started. Until then there were no problem.
I have tried to install PSA SE on another computer and used my catalogue. But it was the same problem on that computer.
Out of curiousity, what happens if you try the trial of PSE 5? I'm not
suggesting you upgrade, I'm just trying to determine where this might be a
problem, whether we even can fix it or whether you have to take a different
I have now installed PSE 5 and when I start the program it tries to convent 'my catalog.psa'. But after about 40% I stop with this error:
"Problem Converting Catalog: My Catalog.psa
There was a problem converting the catalog named.................
The ODBC data source reported the following error:
"[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access-driver] The wanted changes in the table were not made, because it will make duplicate values in the index, the primary key or the relation."
It looks like I have a problem with duplicate data in the catalog.
Do anyone know how to remove duplicate data in the catalog ?? Or how I can find out which data I duplicate so that I can fix it in the PSA SE ??
Sorry... We had a holiday today and a guest from overseas... so I was a
Did you get it to open at all? Or is it just a problem with the duplicate?
If you click on File, you'll see catalog.
The one PSE 5 will want to use should say "My Catalog" by default.
You could also try "recover" to see if that helps.
BTW, post this over in the PSE technical issues section now. I am also
there, but there are also many others that will be interested in this and
might have other ideas.
Boy oh Boy, I know what ya'll are going through.
I was frustrated and started looking on the download page of
If you download PSA 3.2 this will clear up the problem.
It worked for me.
May God Be Your Guide and your #1 in life.
I mean the PSE 3.2 not the psa. Although, I hope all PSA's are where they ought to be.
Whew, scarey topic.
I have been successfully running PSE 5 for several months on a less than a year old 64 PC (AMD Dual COre, 4600) with loads of memory. OS: Vista Home Premium. I can no longer load PSE 5. MEssage comes up that Microsoft C++ has caused this application to terminate in an unusual manner in organizer.exe. How can I correct this problem? So far, I have run CC Cleaner and REG CURE. My virus program finds no viruses.
I hope this message makes some sense!
I have still not solved the problem of getting Organizer in Elements 5 to open; it just locks out, with the message unusual runtime error see administrator. There is no administrator it is a private stand alone machine
Adobe recommend that the state.dat file be deleted at C:\documnets and settings\[user]\Application data\Adobe\Online services\Photoshop Elements 4.0\clients\photoshop Elements\sessions I cannot find this file, dont even know what it means. The other problem is that I cannot register Adobe Photo Album starter Edition 3, because I get the same message when I try to.
I think you posted to the wrong forum. This is actually the forum for
Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition. Looks like you need Photoshop
Elements Technical section.
As far as I know PSE5.0 was not supported on Vista while PSE5.0.2 was released to provide this support only. You can give a thought to upgrading to PSE6 as well.
my free trial is over and when I try to register, a message pops up and says it cannot find the path, then another message comes up and says that in an usual way due to a runtime error. please contact system support team for help. Can you help me?
