    synchronizing Frame/RoboHelp files

    zeppm Community Member
How can I synchronize my RoboHelp and Frame files so that they are the same? The RoboHelp help file says to select the Frame file within RoboHelp, but RoboHelp generates all HTML files from the Frame files. Ideally I would like to do what the help file says to do and just make the change to the file through RoboHelp, but if I need to go to Frame first, I'd be okay with that, as long as I don't have to reformat the file already in RoboHelp from scratch.

      Thanks!

Do you have the Technical Communications suite? I was confused by what you are asking. Using the Tech Com Suite, the FM document should be imported into RH by reference. This keeps the two projects linked where the FM document is the main document where you make changes.

          Hopefully this helps,

I also have the same question. We have the Technical Communications Suite here and would like to keep the source in Frame but take advantage of the RoboHelp features like expanding and drop-down text. It does not appear that we can add RoboHelp specific features to our topic and still maintain the core content for the topic in Frame. A dialogue pops up when we make a change in RoboHelp for a referenced topic and the choice is to overwrite the changes with the next Frame update, or to maintain the RoboHelp changes. If you maintain the RoboHelp changes, the Frame updates are not carried through. Is there a way to do both?

            Thanks,
