1. Re: ImageReady animated gif creation
Mylenium Dec 9, 2008 11:17 PM (in response to talbot)Are you saving the file also correctly as a PSD for backup purposes? Editing the optimized version might fail due to being unable to adjust the color palette or a number of other reasons associated with the specifics of the animated GIF format, but it should be perfectly possible to get correct results based on the PSD.

(Silkrooster) Dec 10, 2008 12:48 AM (in response to talbot)Its been a long time since I have used ImageReady, and then it was for about year when CS3 came out. So my memory if very rusty with that program. (In other words I am hoping that I am not too far off base, lol.)
Check and make sure there are the same number of layers as there are frames. I believe there is an option in the animation palette for sending the frames to layers. Once you know that the frames and layers match (plus any additional layers you create), you can clear out the animation and reapply the layers to frames.
You should find a small icon in the upper right hand corner of the animation palette and the layers palette. Clicking them will bring up a menu that will do what you need. -

talbot Dec 10, 2008 9:55 AM (in response to talbot)Thanks for you help!
I selected "create layer for each frame" in the animation window. So I delete the frames in the animation window by highlighting the frame and then clicking the garbage can? There are 29 so it will take a bit.
Then maybe the option that is grayed out now "Make frames from layers" is what I use?
I'm going to try that then add some new layers and then do the make frames from layers. I will report back on my results though manually removing each frame is a hassle and may end up taking the same amount of time as remaking the whole thing. -

talbot Dec 10, 2008 10:44 AM (in response to talbot)I was able to select all and rag to garbage can. I then added new layers and the layers to frames and BINGO. IT WORKS!
Thanks much for this! -
