    movie export

I'm learning to use Premiere CS3 on the Mac to edit video from my Sony camcorder. I first import the AVCHD clips using iMovie. When I look at the properties of these QuickTime files in Premiere, I see this (along with a lot of other stuff that I've removed):

      Image Size: 1440 x 1080
      Pixel Depth: 1440
      Frame Rate: 29.97
      Pixel Aspect Ratio: 1.333

Video track 1 contains 1 type(s) of video data:

      Video data block #1:
      Frame Size = 1440 x 1080

I then edit the movie and use the File::Export::Movie to produce a new QuickTime movie that has an identical set of properties as those listed above.

The problem is that when viewed in the QuickTime player, the original files display with a 15x9 aspect ratio as I expected. The edited movie clips however display with a 4x3 aspect ratio and seem squished horizontally. I have no idea why.

      My export settings are:

      Frame Size: 1440h x 1080v
Pixel Aspect Ratio: HD Anamorphic 1080 (1.33)

      My project settings are:

      Editing Mode: HDV 1080p
      Frame Size: 1440h x 1080v
Pixel Aspect Ratio: HD Anamorphic 1080 (1.33)

The one oddity that I see that when I use the "inspector" in the QuickTime player, I see this for the original clip:

      Format: Apple Intermediate Codec, 1440 x 1080 (1888 x 1062)
      Normal Size: 1888 x 1062 pixels
      Current Size: 1888 x 1062 pixels (Actual)

      Format: H.264 Decoder, 1440 x 1080
      Normal Size: 1440 x 1080 pixels
      Current Size: 1440 x 1080 pixels (Actual)

      What am I doing wrong?

      Thanks.
