Nest the sequence that has the audio inside of another sequence. Then apply the preset to the nested sequence (which now behaves like a clip inside of the master sequence).

You can also go to your Audio Mixer Console and toggle down the triangle to reveal a sort of rack where you can add effects.
There you can add an effect and modify it and apply it to a whole track.

Thanks Howard. I actually already do do that but what I wanted to do was use the rack that you speak of, make modifications to one of the effects that I choose, and then save THAT as a customized preset and use it else where later, even on another project.
