I am using CS3 Premiere with auto color (using a quad core and Xp with 4 gigs of Ram without the 3gig switch) for a PAL video animation-straight video composite. The rendering preview and Mpeg encoding flickers and strobes between the original off color and the new color.
I tried using "temporal smoothing" in the auto color effect, the ram usage goes way up; and now it wont render at all (saying : error compiling movie). Then when trying to use the media encoder; Premier then runs out of memory and crashes or says the color spaces are not compatible. Any suggestions?
I took the problem clip (a hi-res clip - played backwards in a Pal res sequence) into a new project and it rendered OK using this effect settings...but this 10 second clip took 15 minutes to render and still flickered (using both the flicker setting and the auro color smoothing effect).
