1. I use Cineform with great results and would indeed convert it to cineform BEFORE editing. It converts the 4:2:0 colorspace to 4:2:2 and is better to edit with, along with the fact it also coverts long GOP to almost a frame based compressin.
2. Cineforms method of "deinterlaceing" is different than Adobe's.
I have tried both. It seems that Cineforms is better. There is a LONG post under HDV to SD conversion. Read it.
But, it seems to me that if you keep it interlaced, motion seems smoother and more natural.
Adam Wilt did a good review of the HL and stated that the "F" frames are really progressive frames made from interlaced CCD's. The frames do lose a little vertical resolution.
I would either shoot in F and keep it there, or shoot in I and keep it there.
I appreciate your response.
On question #3...
It would seem that i should encode the video by choosing the same encoder resolution that the H1 records in i.e. 1440x1080 to avoid introducing any artifacts from changing it to 1920x1080.
Would you agree?
You should edit HDV at 1440X1080, yes.
I would edit in the H1's native resolution of 1440x1080 but i was refering to exporting the video to adobe encoder and encoding as either 1440x1080 or 1920x1080.
I suspect you'll say that its better to stay at 1440x1080 when encoding through adobe encoder since the original camera resolution was 1440x1080.
Oh, actually, no. Probably not.
It depends on what the purpose and format of the export is. If you are exporting to WMV then use square pixels (1920X1080).
If it is for the purpose of reusing in another Premiere Pro project, then perhaps keep it ay 1440X1080 (1.33).
Its for exporting to Blu-ray dvd.
Adobe encoder offers two high quality Blu-Ray dvd settings. 1440x1080 and 1920x1080.
I have to bow out here. I have never written to Blu-ray.
I feeell soooo alooone..... but thanks anyway.
Try a test both ways. Observe the results. (Use a BR-RE)
I am regular user for premiere pro cs3 now i have the footage in that footage. I got lot of video noise. This is the important footage. please suggest me how can i remove this video noise.
