> iMovieHD has this and its a free app that comes with the computer!
Well done to iMovieHD!!
You will find many many people have found a work-around ages ago with regards to HDV scene detecting. I use Vegas 7, works great!
Adobe may or may not support it, who knows, perhaps HDV will vanish in 2 years and rid us of it's problems.
It does not matter what application you capture, capturing from tape is simply a transfer of the information.
Actually Howard, it matters quite a bit. I could not work without Scene Detect. David is correct that it is quite surprising.
The simple solution is to use a free program "HDVSplit". A better solution is to purchase Aspect HD and use the included HDLink to Scene detect for you.
Using Scene Detect eliminates much of the audio slippage caused by broken GOPs.
I also very astonished to have no szene detection in HDV. HDVSplit works very well with my canon HV10 however it creates m2t files instead of mpeg files. Do anyone know, whether this will cause problems ore has influence on the resolution?
Just a different extension, no impact on the content.
