When capturing video directly from the Sony Handycam, it appears to be of normal brightness and contrast. But later when viewing the same clip in the project monitor it appears extremely dark. Exporting video to produce a DVD restores the original brightness of the capture monitor.
This has been a real issue because we use the project window for editing. Compensating for the extremely dark image on the project monitor causes the finished exported video to look very washed-out. If anyone has experienced this problem and found a way to deal with it, I would be grateful for your advice. Is there a way to adjust the settings of the project monitor to appear the same as the capture monitor?
