P2 media is not NTSC. It's ATSC - meaning high def. It makes sense that it would not be output via an NTSC channel.
Thanks for the reply.
With the P2 format, we can record in standard definition with DVCPro25 & DVCPro50. We can also record HD in 1080i or 720P.
The projects that I'm trying to see thru the ADVC 110 are recorded in DVCPro 25 (aka DV NTSC.)
Well, it could be that since most people using P2 will probably be recording in HD, that display option was just disabled for all P2 presets.
If you're using DV25 P2 MXF clips, simply use an NTSC DV project preset (either standard or widescreen, whichever fits your footage). The DV25 MXF clips will import and playback, and you'll be able to view over a firewire connection.
Thanks for the info! I can now see the clips fine. Do you have any idea why the "Playback Settings' button is grayed out for P2 media?

What about DVCPRO50? That's standard definition with much better quality (4:2:2 Chroma and less compression artifacts).
What really bothers me is that I can't choose the 24p Conversion Method. I can shoot either 24P (ABBCD) or 24PA (2:3:3:2). How do I tell Premiere which mode I shot the footage if the "Playback Settings" button is grayed out?
I don't know. Sorry.
