Update to latest cs3
Put the Contents Folder from each P2 card(in its entirety) onto an internal H/Drive. (Explorer does this fine.)
Drag the mxf files from the Video Folder within the Contents Folder to a bin in the project window.
You should be good to go from there. (assuming you have set your project according to the material)
You may need to Re map the audio channels. (P2 has 4 channels by default)
Ask if you need to know how to remap them or you need project settings.
And perhaps the drivers and P2 Viewer
And definitely do a full test before production begins.
You definitely need the P2 drivers installed as Howard says.
BTW - Check out 'P2 Forge' application . (P2 Viewer and P2 Ingest)
Thanks Guys, very helpful!!
The P2 drivers you spoke of, I assume that they are for CS3 and can be found on the Adobe site?
No, the drivers are for Panasonic P2 equipment. Unfortunately, Panasonic's P2 support website is poorly-translated from Japanese, and a little difficult to navigate. This site ( http://panasonic.sixbullets.net) collects all the important information, links, and software to help you get up and running with P2.
