Fill Left or Fill Right
Does fill left /right create stereo in a mono clip. Where does it put the track?
You could try Audio Channel Mapping.
I think Taylor has probably misspoke calling it mono. If sound is one one side only, then the clip is by definition stereo, else sound would come out both sides equally. It's just that one channel has audio, and the other does not.
The Fill effects essentially duplicate one channel into the other.

If it is a true Mono clip though...Mapping it to Stereo is a simple fix.
I get them all the time from a ProTools Suite (split mixes)and because its inconvenient to work with them low down in the Seq. I remap them.
If it is a true mono clip, sound would by default come out of both speakers. That doesn't seem to be the issue here, though.
mono=1 source. making it show up on both left and right doesn't make it stereo. it is still one source sent out both left and right speakers. instead of coming out of one side, it will appear to come out in midle.
Hey thanks all, I think I misspoke when I said mono... the fill left, fill right option fixed it up. Whoopee!
In my case they are "true" mono clips coming out both speakers but I want to work with them on the stereo tracks instead of buried at the bottom of the sequence on the audio timelines.
