There is no reason that a m2t file should crash your system. I suggest that you wipe out your preferences and try again.
Where do I find the preferences?
Mine are located here:
C:\Documents and Settings\Steven\Application Data\Adobe\Premiere Pro\3.0
If that does not work, you may need to completely remove Premiere Pro, and all of the application directories (manually deleting everything the removal leaves in place). Everything except your projects. Then reinstall.
Everytime I try and import the files they crash my pc. I've deleted the preferences what else can I do?
I have the same problem with Premiere Pro CS3 crashing when I try to import .m2t files I captured with HDVSplit. I have Cineform installed and I can import and edit the .avi files from cineform without problelm.
I haven't redone the preferences (can I use alt-shift-cntl on opening with CS3?), but do you think the Cineform could be the problem with the HDVsplit .m2t files?
I use Cineform to capture footage when I expect to use most of it. I use HDVSplit to capture footage when I expect to share the raw footage, or I expect to only convert a small percentage of it to Cineform AVI.
Neither one crash my system.
Thanks for the help. I found this
and I just deleted quicktime 7.41 and presto, I can import .m2t files and capture with the Premiere Pro module.
I don't have to hold "shift" when I load Premiere, so I'll keep that for the next problem.
