Thanks for the input...I don't think it's RAM only because it doesn't happen all the time, and I'm not having problems with any other applications.
As for third party plugin, I don't have that many installed, and the last time it happened (yesterday) I was closing a project that wasn't using any of them.
One thing, and not sure if this is anything, but the project I closed yesterday when it gave me the error again did contain a number of dynamic linked files....could that be something that would cause it?
It doesn't have to happen all the time if it's RAM.
I second NDO's comment. It may well not the the RAM, but the reasons you cite for that belief don't really hold up, so the possibility at least shouldn't be discounted.
Okay - sounds good. I fully admit - I'm not a hardware guy, so it could be.
Maybe I'll make a call to HP and see what they have to say. I'm pretty sure the computer is still under warranty.
As I mentioned, it doesn't happen all the time, so that's what made me wonder. Never happened with PPro 2, or doesn't with any other application.
You can always test the memory yourself.
This handy little program spotted a bad stick of RAM for me not too long ago. It can take a while to run a full test, depending on how much RAM there is and it's speed.
Of course, yeah, this might not be your problem at all, but you might be able to eleminate it as a possibility.
