I have an acer, though I found this issue was resolved?:

          i Hey ACE_Design,

Well, after weeks of communications with Adobe (who are absolutely useless, rude and unhelpful by the way) I fixed the bug.

Go to Add or Remove Programs and uninstall Acer eData Security Management. Run Dreamweaver. Hey presto. It works.

The eData program is useless and annoying anyway, but I'd recommend you make sure you're covered by some other security software instead.

I hope this helps, and good luck!

PS - I have no idea why this works, but it does!

          THANK YOU!!

That worked and I am up and running. I never got an answer back from Adobe support and Acer just said "it is not our problem".

I only wonder what I am actually losing deleting that software
