Yes, you should be able to import Quicktime footage in.
I find you can import but, boy does it bring Premiere CS3 to a crawl. Plus, it has to "Generate Peak file" for every single QT file imported. I'm working on a presentation that was shot in HD, and brought over from a company that gave me a harddrive with 100 SD formatted QT files. Importing is taking over 2 hrs.
There's got to be a better way. This is nuts. AND I find that when editing that PPcs3 is really slow and sometimes crashes.
My question is... would it be better to convert all my QT files in Sorenson to AVI. Then bring them into Premiere? Boy, that's gonna take some time and memory.

It does that for every single file with audio, regardless of format.

Chastise the other company for using a Mac and bring them back into the PC light? :)
Are these DVCProHD qts from the Mac?
