Projector lamps are very expensive and are usually replaced after around two thousand hours. If you're using it full time you will be replacing the lamp quite often.
I suspect this is not a cost efficient option.

I have a movie room in my new house, and the Sony "Pearl" projector I bought was $5k, with an extra bulb right at $400
That is more expensive than most of the 60" HDTV sets out there nowadays. And you would want the 1080 set or you would miss the extra pixels a PC monitor would give you.
But I suppose $5K isn't really all that bad if you have nothing better to do with the money.
