Apply several effects to many cut clips in sequence

In Sony Vegas its possible to apply effects to a video track, not just its parts. Is there something like this is Premiere CS3?

I created a sequence and imported one video file. Then I cut this file into several clips (in order to remove unwanted scenes). Then I decided to apply some effects to all the clips (e.g. color correction, keying etc.) Is there a way to apply a bunch of effects in one step to all of these clips? (or to the file?) It's pretty much works and error prone to apply several effects to e.g. 20 parts of a video file.

I read about nested sequences in the manual, but that doesn't seem to fit for my case, because there are different layers in my sequence (the video file mentioned above is just one track) that have to be synchronized.
