Maybe the levels are just too low to see the waveform display. Widening the audio track can help if that's the case.
Along Jim's lines, you might want to expand your Audio Tracks in the Timeline. You can zoom in with the little slider at the bottom - note the bigger "mountains" zoom in. Then, you can place the cursor at the top of your Audio Track (make sure that the little arrow is pointing down) and drag to expand vertically.
When you Imported your WAV files, PEK files should have been created. These are the Waveform Display files. With the Audio Track(s) expanded in both directions, you should see a display similar to what you would have in Audition, or Soundbooth.
