image sequences? are you working with a collection of pictures or HD video?
If its the former, then it doesnt matter, but if its the latter then you need to select a preset applicable to your HD format, as there are a few different formats for HD. You will also need to work at the resolution of your source material. You should probably read the manual for your camera and research the specs on it. Always work in native format if possible, else encode to lagarith and use that, though you probably will need a hefty computer for HD material.
If you cant tell the result is HD then neither can your viewers and you probably shouldnt be wasting your time and resources shooting in HD. If you are a photographer you should have no problem discerning images at the pixel level.
I would suggest you export with Blu-ray H.264 1080p. This will allow you to store it on a Blu-ray disk and play it back on a Blu-ray player. If you want to export to DVD instead, use 480p with 24 fps.
Thank you both for your help! I have figured out what settings I need to get the results I want.
I ended up encoding the videos using Windows Media encoder in 1080p with 24fps. The videos turned out excellent.
Great results with windows media encoder? i see.....
