It's working here on Vista Business 64. Most likely you installed the 64-bit version of VirtualDub. Don't do that.
AviSynth is 32-bit and it doesn't play at all with the 64-bit version of VirtualDub. Install the 32-bit version of VDub and proceed just like you did in XP.
Thanks, Jeff. That is good to know that it should work. In fact, I am virtually sure that I have used sd2hd since I installed Vista 64.
I am using the latest version of VirtualDub 32 bit. Avisynth still can't find the function "sd2hd". Makes me think it can't find the plugins directory.
I'll keep trying different things. If anybody else can think of anything to try I would appreciate it.
Ok, mystery solved. I had experimented with the 64 bit version Of Avisynth and that evidently messed up my registry. I uninstalled Avisynth and then searched the registry and deleted any reference to Avisynth, of which there were quite a few. Then I downloaded and installed the latest version and it works again!
