That's what I thought. Weird.
If you reinstalled from the original disk its not so weird.
Your problem is that the updates may not be available anymore.
This would be a pity considering that many others may be in the same boat once they try CS4 and wish to return to CS3.
Can you even buy CS3 anymore?
They're still available on the website. I downloaded them all.
I assume they are cumulative, so that you don't need to install all four in order, just the 3.2 update? There's no info on this on the site. Most SW companies do it this way, but with Adobe you never know.
Initially tried doing them in order but it seemed like it took forever -- looked like the system was hung. So went straight to 3.2 and it installed in a flash.
By the way, all the updates going way back to 1.5.1 are there.
Anyway, splash screen is now showing 3.2.0 and all seems to be working for the moment.
I think the only point of the updater is that it'll do the search for you for all your products.
Even weirder: The parallel install I have on the Win7 partition updated by itself just fine. Just not the Vista instance.
Curiouser and curiouser...

I wouldn't assume that.
I was afraid of that. Drat.
