What was the reason you 'bought' Prospect is the first place? There might be your answer.
There are two underlying theoretical reasons for using something like Prospect. The first is ease of editing. With it's I-frame codec, your computer doesn't have to work as hard to edit the Prospect files as it does to decode and edit the native EX1 files. This means you may get better real time performance out of the AVIs, especially when editing multiple streams.
The second is less generational loss. According to Cineform, you can have multiple generations rendered of their files with little to no loss in picture quality.
Perhaps the best way is to edit in natif and to render in Prospect. The only question is whether on your first rendering you lose more in native than in prospect when rendering with colour correction and effects.
Finally, does the fact one uses Prospect make the system any more stable? I'm thinking of a 2 hour program with various layers.
